I have worked as a practitioner and consultant in the social profit sector for 15 years.

Here are 4 simple (but effective) strategies I’d share with anyone starting a new organization today:

#1: Think like a start-up.

Identify your value proposition. Understand that value and strive to drive impact. Share your value with your community and what’s in it for them.

#2: Weave your marketing and fundraising departments together.

Don’t silo these two departments. The future sees a push/pull relationship with your audience that impacts the community you want to support.

#3: Build relationships with your supporters and the people your organization helps.

Strive to create a community of people who love what you do. You’ll build a movement and bring significant support to the people that depend on your services.

#4: Use technology to support your growth

Get comfortable using digital tools and online systems to create valuable resources. There’s never been a better time to provide information, services, and collaboration within your team.

By leveraging these four pieces of advice, you’ll see exponential growth in your social profit. And that support from your community can be endless if you share how you are helping to change the world. ✌🏼

Ready to start your own social profit? Happy to chat about your ideas when you’re ready. (DMs open)
